How to Find Your Own Unique Voice?

Finding your own unique voice is a wonderful journey of self-discovery!

Many years ago a very famous singer said to me ‘no one does you better than you’.

I believe after working with thousands of singers that it is a more noble pursuit to become a 100% version of yourself, than a 50% copy of someone else.

Here are some friendly tips to help you along the way:

1. Explore Your Interests: Dive into different genres, styles, and mediums. Read widely, listen to various music, and engage with different forms of art. This will help you identify what resonates with you.

2. Reflect on Your Experiences: Think about your life experiences, values, and beliefs. Your unique perspective is shaped by your background, and incorporating these elements can help you express your voice authentically.

3. Practice Regularly: Whether it’s writing, speaking, or creating, the more you practice, the more you’ll refine your voice. Don’t be afraid to experiment and make mistakes along the way!

4. Seek Feedback: Share your work with trusted friends or mentors. Constructive feedback can provide insights and help you see your voice from different angles.

5. Be Authentic: Embrace who you are! Authenticity is key to finding your unique voice. Don’t try to mimic others; instead, focus on what feels true to you.

6. Stay Open to Change: Your voice may evolve over time, and that’s perfectly okay! Stay open to new influences and experiences that can shape your expression.

Remember, finding your unique voice is a personal journey, so take your time and enjoy the process!
